Nissan capitalizes on custom truck trend with Rocky Ridge Packages for TITAN XD, TITAN, Frontier and Armada

Nissan and Rocky Ridge Trucks are making it official – TITAN XD, TITAN, Armada and Frontier are now available to be purchased with Rocky Ridge packages at Nissan dealerships. The collaboration was announced today at the 2019 Work Truck Show, North America's largest work truck exhibition event held March 6-8 at the Indiana Convention Center. The turnkey truck packages are available through participating Nissan dealerships nationwide and can be fully financed through Nissan's financial arm, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC)2. In addition, Rocky Ridge – a top truck and SUV up-fitter with more than 30 years of experience – will match all Nissan factory warranties, including TITAN's America's Best Truck Warranty1, featuring bumper-to-bumper coverage of 5-years/100,000-miles, whichever comes first. more The announcement comes at a time when consumers are customizing their trucks at a skyrocketing rate. A recent survey3 showed that 39 percent of truck owners in the U.S. accessorize or modify their trucks in some way, and the Enthusiast Segment makes up 49 percent of all U.S. pickup truck owners. Meanwhile, a separate study found that while truck buyers are the most brand loyal automotive segment, 80 percent consider more than one brand4. "Truck buyers are unique and so are their trucks. And while truck buyers are the most brand loyal automotive segment, consumers are willing to consider other brands if the product and value proposition is right," said Fred DePerez, vice president, North America LCV Business Unit, Nissan North America, Inc. "We've found there remains great opportunity within the truck and enthusiast market – and these big, bad, custom-lifted, Rocky Ridge-warranted Nissan trucks are definitely going to drive excitement and traffic to Nissan showrooms for a closer look." Rocky Ridge packages, which feature custom exterior and interior performance and luxury treatments, include: • TITAN XD (Gas and Diesel): Stealth, K2 and Altitude packages • TITAN: K2, Altitude and X packages • Armada: Z3 package • Frontier: Z3 package • Available premium options and upgrades, including custom fade painted exteriors • All Nissan Rocky Ridge packages start with custom suspension systems designed to "stand tall" without compromising smooth ride and handling characteristics. For example, the • TITAN XD and TITAN packages include 6.0-inch suspension lift kits, while Armada and • Frontier feature 3.0-inch and 2.5-inch lift kits, respectively. All packages also include custom wheels and off-road performance tires selected specially for each model. "Americans have always had a love affair with their trucks – but that affair doesn't end with the purchase, it starts there," said Burl Outlaw, CEO, Rocky Ridge Trucks. "Rocky Ridge has worked hard to show that Nissan hosts a perfect line of trucks and SUVs to facilitate that relationship. And there is no better way to show what is possible than to have examples ready for sale on Nissan dealer lots – easily financed by Nissan with warranties fully matched by Rocky Ridge."

Nissan Altima sits among the industry's best new vehicles in 2019 Automobile All-Star Competition

The 2019 Nissan Altima has been named one of Automobile Magazine's 2019 All-Stars at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Completely redesigned and engineered from the ground up for the 2019 model year, the Nissan Altima sports a sleek design and outstanding powertrain options, all backed by smart driver-focused technology. Automobile Magazine evaluated the 2019 Altima SR, equipped with a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, noting it was a serious underdog entering the competition. Its composed handling, strong powertrain and attractive design ultimately won over the editors. "We're incredibly proud to receive this award," said Anne Corrao, director, family sedans and sports cars, Nissan North America. "Altima is one of the most important products in our portfolio and to be honored among the best in the business means the world to us." more Automobile Magazine prides itself in simply choosing the best new cars on the road each year. There are no price caps and no points to tally, meaning the magazine simply selects the best of the best new cars on the road no matter the class in which they compete. And while each year, every new vehicle model makes the initial list, it must achieve style, class, importance and desirability to achieve "All-Stars" status. "The Nissan Altima has undergone a transformation that elevated it to All-Star status," said Automobile editor-in-chief, Mike Floyd. "It drives worlds better than before, is available with an innovative engine and a top-flight suite of safety features, and its clean interior layout pairs with a great-looking new exterior." Equipped with the revolutionary 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, editors were genuinely surprised by its multi-faceted capabilities. Capable of producing the torque typically reserved for a larger engine along with the fuel economy of a four-cylinder. Furthermore, the Altima's confidence-inspiring suspension characteristics are described as performing well above that of class rivals. The Altima is available with a complete suite of both standard and optional Nissan Intelligent Mobility features like Safety Shield 360, ProPILOT Assist, Intelligent Around View Monitor and Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive.

Nissan LEAF first electric car to pass 400,000 sales

The Nissan LEAF today became the first electric car in history to surpass 400,000 sales, solidifying the model’s leading role in the global shift toward more sustainable mobility. Introduced in 2010 as the world’s first mass-market electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF has led the way in making the excitement and convenience of electric driving accessible to non-luxury buyers. Less than a decade ago, electric cars were seen as a niche product, and LEAF customers were mostly “early adopters." Today, a growing number of consumers say their next car may be electric. Customers are choosing the LEAF for its powerful, agile performance and advanced technologies, such as the ProPILOT Assist semiautonomous driving system1, in addition to the benefits of sustainable mobility. “This milestone is a powerful statement that 400,000 customers, and counting, value the Nissan LEAF for the excitement, confidence and connection it delivers," said Executive Vice President Daniele Schillaci, Nissan's global head of marketing, sales and electric vehicles. “The LEAF remains the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, our strategy for moving more people to a better world." more In launching the first-generation LEAF, Nissan pledged to become a global leader in producing and promoting vehicles with zero tailpipe emissions. The company committed itself to working with governments and utility companies to support the adoption of electric vehicles, make charging them easier and more convenient, and develop second-life uses for electric car batteries. Since then, Nissan has formed partnerships around the world under its Nissan Energy initiative. These partnerships will leverage the ability of electric car batteries to store energy and share it with homes, businesses and power grids – making electric vehicles even more useful, while promoting efficient energy use. Meanwhile, LEAF owners have driven their cars more than 10 billion kilometers in total. The number of LEAF vehicles sold since 2010 is enough to save 3.8 million barrels of oil a year.2 Last year, the LEAF was not only the best-selling electric vehicle in Europe, but also the top-selling car of any kind in Norway. The Nissan LEAF is available in more than 50 markets globally. It will go on sale in six new markets in Latin America in the first half of this year and seven in Asia and Oceania by the end of the year. The new LEAF Recently, a model with a new powertrain joined the lineup: the Nissan LEAF PLUS, which offers increased power and up to 226 miles of range. Sales of the LEAF PLUS began in late January in Japan. U.S. sales will begin this spring, and Europe will follow shortly thereafter. The Nissan LEAF embodies the three pillars of Nissan Intelligent Mobility – Intelligent Power, Intelligent Drive and Intelligent Integration. The car’s innovative electric powertrains exemplify the first, while ProPILOT Assist, available in many markets, showcases the second. Designed for single-lane driving on the highway, ProPILOT Assist maintains speed and lane position while reducing driver fatigue. Nissan Intelligent Integration The Nissan LEAF has also opened up a new world of clean energy capabilities that stretch beyond efficient transportation. Nissan Energy is an ecosystem centered on Nissan electric vehicles that make them even more useful to customers by leveraging their batteries’ ability to store and share energy. It enables electric vehicle owners to easily connect their cars with energy systems to charge their batteries, power homes and businesses or help balance power grids. As part of Nissan Energy, the company has already started infrastructure pilots in Europe, Japan and the U.S., and future commercial uses are in development. Nissan Energy also includes new efforts to reuse batteries, a vital step in enhancing the sustainability of electric vehicles. Along with strategic partners, Nissan has taken LEAF batteries and repurposed them for use in off-grid street lighting, power banks for sports complexes, and more. LEAF manufacturing The Nissan LEAF is built at three factories: Oppama, Japan; Sunderland, England; and Smyrna, Tennessee. 1 Available on selected grades. The 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport receives a fresh new front end appearance for the 2020 model year, along with redesigned rear tail lamps, revised trim level and option package content. Set for sale in fall 2019, the 2020 Rogue Sport expands on the long list of enhancements for the 2019 model year – which included the addition of available ProPILOT Assist, Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology, updated audio system with standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and available Bose®1 Audio System with nine speakers. “Our Rogue Sport is a critical vehicle in Nissan’s popular CUV lineup, slotted strategically between the Nissan Kicks and Rogue,” said Scott Shirley, vice president, CMM & Marketing Operations, Nissan North America, Inc. “We’re committed to keeping our crossover/SUV portfolio fresh – which also includes the redesigned Murano, new Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition and flagship Armada. Nissan is on a roll and we’re not letting up heading into 2020.” Most prominent among the 2020 Rogue Sport refinements is the new exterior design that offers a more technical feel – helping provide a greater separation from its Nissan Rogue stable mate. The new front fascia features a new hood, Vmotion grille and bumper. The aggressive lighting treatment includes LED signature Daytime Running Lights. more In the rear, a new combination light design matches the more dynamic look of the front end. A new 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheel design and two new colors, Nitro Lime Metallic and Monarch Orange Metallic, complete the exterior makeover. The advanced Nissan Safety Shield 360, currently offered on SV and SL grades, will become standard on all 2020 Rogue Sport models including the base S grade. Part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility strategy, Safety Shield 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA). The innovative Rear Door Alert system will continue to be offered as part of Rogue Sport’s long list of standard features. In addition, ProPILOT Assist will again be available in 2020. ProPILOT Assist is a single-lane “hands-on” driving assistance technology that eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving.2 The 2020 Rogue Sport will be offered in front-wheel and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive configurations, and in three well-equipped grade levels – S, SV and SL. It will again be powered by a combination of a 141-horsepower 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine and Xtronic transmission with Eco Mode switch.
