Feel the thrill of being first, and the thrill of owning the all-new ARIYA electric crossover. Reserve your ride into the electric future. Reserve your ARIYA today. Room to do more No need to sacrifice space or comfort. The Nissan LEAF has a modern interior with great cargo space, including fold-down rear seats that let you bring larger items with ease. Trim Levels (Exterior) The 2023 Nissan Ariya is an all-new electric SUV that showcases aggressive exterior styling elements. It is expected to be available initially in one well-equipped trim level. The design differs from many other models in the Nissan lineup, as this vehicle shows a departure from the sharp lines with its wide, low stance and sporty features. Nissan refers to the Ariya's unique design as “timeless Japanese futurism.” The vehicle will be available in six two-tone paint schemes and comes standard with 20-inch wheels, an aggressive front end with an oversized grille, and a low-slung design that sits near the ground. Engine (Power) Nissan will offer two battery levels in the Ariya, one of which will pair with a single motor that sends power to the front wheels. The other option is the e-4ORCE dual-motor all-wheel-drive system currently featured in the latest Nissan Leaf. The standard single-engine powertrain will have a 65-kWh battery and deliver a combined output of 215 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, while the dual-motor system will feature a 90-kWh battery and put out 335 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. According to estimates, the long-range battery powertrain should allow the Ariya to go about 300 miles on a single charge. Performance One of the most appealing features of this electric model is its quick-charging battery — Nissan reports that it can go from 5 to 80% in less than an hour. All the powertrain components underwent development under the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The automaker also reports that the SUV can come to a complete halt without the driver touching the brake pedal, thanks to a regenerative braking system within the SUV. This model is also quite speedy, with estimates indicating it can go from zero to 60 mph in around 5 seconds. Nissan uses features from other models in its lineup, including the torque-split system in the GT-R sports car, to equip the Ariya with all-wheel drive. Interior The new SUV's spacious cabin won't disappoint buyers who love the futuristic look of its exterior. Inside, you'll find dual 12.3-inch display screens for the infotainment system and digital gauge cluster, along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, integrated navigation, and high-end zero-gravity front seats. The flat floor provides passengers with extra space, and you can slide the center console back for more room up front. Safety Features The 2023 Nissan Ariya will come equipped with a full suite of active and passive safety features, including Nissan's ProPILOT Assist 2.0. This upgraded system includes semi-autonomous driving functionality, allowing drivers to safely take their hands off the wheel when driving on divided highways that have few curves. Other features bundled into the suite include forward collision warning with automatic braking and pedestrian detection, a rearview camera, and lane departure warning with lane-keep assist.

Spring has sprung, and so have the annoying potholes wet winter weather left behind on some of your most frequented roads. And unfortunately, these divots in the asphalt can wreak havoc on your vehicle. While they might not seem like a huge issue, potholes can cause costly damage to tires, suspensions, and other vehicle parts. A report from AAA indicates that drivers in the U.S. spend an average of $3 billion on pothole damage repairs each year. Luckily, there are several smart moves drivers can make to help minimize and hopefully steer clear of the damage that these rocky pavement pits might cause. Check out the roadmap below on how to avoid pothole pitfalls driving forward: Don’t drive through puddles When it comes to puddles, be cautious. Don’t drive a vehicle too fast through them since there may be hidden potholes that are deep and extra dangerous. If the vehicle does collide with a deep crater, don’t panic. Pull over to a safe spot on the highway or shoulder of the road right away. Slow down, check for cross traffic, change lanes and come to a stop to check for damage. Stay alert on unfamiliar roads When driving on an unfamiliar road, watch out for hazards. Because drivers often anticipate and avoid potholes in areas they travel often, they might not notice new ones in less frequented areas. Drivers should keep their eyes peeled in new places and proceed with caution. Keep a safe distance between vehicles Maintain a safe distance between vehicles on the road. Drivers will be able to spot potholes faster and more easily when they can see what’s coming. Make it a point to maintain at least a 3-second following distance between the vehicle in front of you. And remember, allow for extra space on highways and byways because it’s possible to miss a pothole when following too closely at faster speeds. Keep up on car maintenance If the vehicle’s tires are inflated properly when it hits a pothole, it lessens the chance of damage. When a vehicle hits a pothole with low tire pressure, the rim is more likely to be damaged and the suspension could suffer. Underinflated tires may also increase the chances of losing control of your vehicle or getting a blowout. Overinflated tires will not give as much during impact with a pothole, which could also damage the suspension. Shocks and struts in good condition, with properly inflated tires can cushion the blow. Drive slower in the dark Less visibility during nighttime means it can be tougher to avoid potholes. Reduce the chances of driving over them and minimize damage by taking it slow on the roads. This defensive driving tactic is especially helpful when it’s rainy or excessively windy. Know how to hit an unavoidable pothole Some potholes just can’t be avoided. One of the best things to do is slow down to avoid incurring vehicle damage. When the car hits a pothole, grip the steering wheel tightly to prevent it from jerking. Just don’t brake before hitting a pothole because doing so can cause damage. Source: Michigan Department of Transportation
