Another way that the company sought to improve fuel economy of the ship was to integrate a suite of lightweight materials into the design. And from the sounds of it, each of these measures paid off big time for the company.

After all, the ship is able to perform the same duty as similar ships - transporting 2,000 vehicles at a time -  and it's able to do so while producing significantly less CO².
